Schema Markup for AI Search
Structured data tells AI systems what a page is without making them guess. Here is what to add, and what to skip.
Start with identity
Organization and WebSite markup on the site level, then per-page types that match the content. Identity first: if a model cannot confirm who publishes a page, everything else is weaker.
Implementation notes
- Use JSON-LD in the HTML source, not injected after hydration.
- Keep markup consistent with the visible content.
- Include author and dates on editorial pages.
- Validate the JSON — one syntax error voids the block.
