Does more schema always mean a better score?

No. Accurate, complete markup on the types that match your content scores well. Padding pages with irrelevant or contradictory types does not.

What structured data does for AI answers

Structured data is a machine-readable description of what a page is about: the organisation behind it, the author, the product, the article, the questions it answers. Language models infer most of this from prose, but explicit markup removes ambiguity — and ambiguity is what stops a model from naming you confidently.

Schema types worth having

Organization — who publishes the site, with logo, URL and contact points.
WebSite — the site itself, plus search behaviour.
Article or BlogPosting — for editorial pages, with author and dates.
Product and Offer — for anything purchasable, with price and availability.
FAQPage — for genuine question-and-answer content.
BreadcrumbList — for deep pages, to express where they sit.

Where implementations usually fail

JSON-LD injected only by client-side JavaScript, so crawlers never see it.
Markup that contradicts the visible page.
Article markup with no author and no dates.
One Organization block on the homepage and nothing anywhere else.
Invalid JSON that silently breaks the whole block.
